enjoy every.single.moment of 2012

While 2011 had more than its fair share of ups and downs, it’s best not to dwell on the difficulties of the past and focus on the opportunities in the future. Let go of the disappointments and use them as learning experiences. Life is short and every minute should be cherished. Surround yourself with people you love. Take chances, live in the moment, don’t think twice. Appreciate everything you have, as it all could be taken from you in the blink of an eye.

  1. Good luck on those goals, Melissa! I’m with ya on the budget and the more reading – plus I’d like to make this my fittest year yet between running, yoga, and bootcamp.

  2. Love all of your goals!! Sound like you are going to have an amazing year!!

  3. The realistic budget thing is definitely on my list — I was too afraid to pay attention to how much I was spending last year and I’m 100 percent sure it was way out of control!

  4. Great goals! Good luck accomplishing all of them!

  5. First of all, I love your header! Secondly, this is a fantastic list!! I admire all of these goals. My big goal for this year is to run my first marathon injury-free. I know it’s going to take a lot of dedication to stretching and strengthening, but I want it bad enough that I just might follow through! 😉 Good luck to you!!!

  6. 12 races in a year is a lot. I did 8 races in 7 months and got super burned out, so be careful! Although, mine were all halfs so if you throw in some smaller ones I’m sure it will be much better.
I think my goal is to run a sub 2 hour half. My PR is 2:41 away from it. Though, I won’t put that on my blog because it won’t happen. So it goes in your comments! You are welcome. 🙂

    • I definitely think you have sub-2 in you, esp if you keep up with those sprints!

I did 11 in 2011, and that was without racing from the end of March – Oct 1st. I did, however, run a ton of shorter races in the fall/winter so that helped a lot. Fingers crossed for no burnouts!! Oh and also for no strikes on my bank account’s behalf 😉
